Corey C Waters

Corey C. Waters (B. 1990) is an artist and cinematographer based in Los Angeles. Waters’ paintings and photographs inspect the physicality of the horizon line as an impossible or illusory space, with potential to expand the two-dimensional surfaces of his works to other, more concealed, planes. His most recent works have taken shape through automatic and physical gestures, combining medium-specific techniques with natural processes, such as direct-positive photography used to trace the movement of the sun, or a suspended brush soaked in oil paint exposed to the cycles of wind. Waters’ practice has developed from his work on feature films and music videos as a cinematographer. This is his second solo exhibition at Treignac Projet.
